R.Y.L.I.E.

Last night Rylie wrote her name all by herself for the first time! I am very proud of her!!!
She has never even written an "R" before. That is like her though, I will try to teach her something for months and she doesn't seem interested or even that she's paying attention, then all of the sudden, she can do it all by herself! She did this with spelling her name, with drawing, with lots of different things and now with writing!
I was sweeping the floor and she was playing with her magna doodle and said, "Mom, I'm going to write my name." I didn't think too much of it until I looked and saw that it looked like real letters! Then she started writing on paper and really got the hang of it! She was very excited and kept informing me that she was almost four, that's why she could do this.
She has since, written her name about twenty times! We are very proud of her!

Tea Party

Rylie's friend Hannah turned four and had a tea party yesterday. Rylie was so excited that she was going to be able to go to a real tea party at a real tea restaurant. Since Anna was still sick, Auntie Pam took Rylie with her and Abby. Rylie had so much fun! She kept telling me that she got to drink tea out of a real tea cup and use a glass plate. She also got to eat "fancy sandwiches" and have a cupcake. When Pam dropped her off, she ran in the house and said, "I used my manners the whole time!"
Thank you Krista and Hannah for inviting Rylie to such a fun party!

Second Cubbies Patch

(This was from last week, but I forgot to post it!)

I'm so proud of my Rylie girl (and Henry and Keegan, and all of the other Cubbbies that earned their patches). She has worked hard and earned her second patch! She loves Cubbies and is learning to hide God's Word in her heart!

Happy Brithday Bean!

Happy 8th Birthday Bryan! I can't believe our nephew is eight years old already! It seems like just yesterday he was born. For his party today we went to Chuck E. Cheese. Rylie, Gabe and Bryan had fun. Anna not so much. It was very loud and over stimulating for her. She had a pouty lip most of the time and didn't want to leave my side. The poor thing was also overtired. When we got home she took a three hour nap!
It was so nice to see Patty able to get out and enjoy the party. She is still very weak and in some pain, but she is so much better than she was. Praise the Lord!

Thank You!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for Rylie's new bed and bedding! And thank you Daddy for putting it all together!
She loves it, when she snuggled all in, she said "I think I turned into Ariel!"

Rylie at Eight Months

Several people have asked me if Rylie looked like Anna at the same age. Here are some pictures of Rylie when she was Anna's age. What do you think?

Homemade Crackers

Rylie and I made our own cheese crackers the other day. They are along the lines of "Goldfish" crackers, except ours are heart shaped. They turned out quite well if I don't say so myself! Go here for the recipe If you want to make them yourself.

Anna's Vocabulary

Here are the things that Anna can say:
"MaMa"
"DaDa"
"LaLa" (Rylie)
"PaPa" (Grandpa)
"BaBa" (bottle or any food)
"Baby"
"Hi"

She has gotten a couple more teeth, she now has four on the top and three on the bottom. She loves to wave and yell at Grandma's kitty (Sadie). Rylie is her favorite person, she gets so excited when she sees her sister! Every morning now Rylie gives Anna big hugs and tells her good morning. She loves to practice standing. Every morning she tries to close her bedroom door and then gives me a "high five". She is very social and happy. She is such a blessing to us!

Edited to add: This morning she tried juice and waffles for the first time. She ecspecially liked it when I broke the waffles up and put them in front of her so she could feed herself. Rylie and Daddy made us breakfast this morning, such a treat! Ryan was asking Rylie about all of the things God made and she said, "God made everything, even parents." That gave us a chuckle!

First Cubbie Patch!

Rylie earned her first Cubbie patch tonight! She had to learn five verses, the Cubbie's motto, and complete her book work. I'm very proud of her! (By the way, I really do comb her hair before club! I don't know why she looks so disheveled!)
Princess Abby also earned her patch tonight! I just love her pose!

3 Things That Make Me Smile . . .

1. Beautiful blue eyes

2. Anna's new habit of dumping her entire toy basket out and chewing on every single toy

3. My proud Cubbie (last night was pajamma night)
