Halloween

I had a little monkey and a horse for Halloween! They were so cute in their costumes! Even though Anna cried when I first put hers on her!
We went to Ryan's sister, Elisa's house for a party. The girls enjoyed seeing all the spooky foods that Elisa made. The picture of all the kids is them with their cousins and friends.
We also went to our church's Harvest Party (pictures to come.) We didn't think we would have time to trick or treat, so Rylie was excited when she got to trick or treat Daddy at our house! She ended up being able to trick or treat at Grandma and Grandpa's house and a couple of their neighbors as well.
Please pray for my Dad as he has the dreaded Swine Flu! His fever broke this morning so he appears to be on the mend, thankfully!

Daddy's Night

After their Pumpkin Patch Field Trip, the kids got to go back to school that evening for a Dad's night. They painted their pumpkins and the kids put on a little show with some songs they had memorized. Rylie and Daddy had a blast together.

Pumpkin Carving

I love the smell of pumpkins being carved. It just smells like Fall to me. Saturday night we went to Ryan's Mom's house to carve our pumpkins. Rylie was really into it this year, which was fun. She helped get all of the guts out of her pumpkin and helped Ryan carve it. (She's making a ghost face in these pictures.)
Anna cried when I showed her the pumpkin guts! Thankfully, Aunt Teetee had a "Mr. Potato Head" type kit for pumpkins. Anna loved it and picked out which eyes, etc. she wanted on her pumpkin. She was very proud of it.
This year we decided to keep the seeds and roast them. I tried three different recipes, but the ones we liked the best were the regular salted ones.
Anna has been having a runny nose the past few days, but seems to be feeling okay other than that. My throat keeps hurting more and more. My wonderful husband got up with the girls this morning so I could sleep in so I can get better.
Rylie seems to have the best immune system of all of us, so hopefully she won't get sick. She is very concerned because a couple of her friends have Swine Flu. She has been praying for them!
I had started doing the Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred again, but now I cough when I move too much, so that's put on hold. I did manage to get some housecleaning done yesterday and a loaf of zucchini bread made. I'm going to try to take it a little easier today and eat some soup. I need a Chai though. I always wish Starbucks delivered!
Pictures from Rylie's pumpkin patch field trip coming soon!

Happy Birthday Leslie!

When I was growing up, there was a little girl that lived across the street from us. She soon became a little sister to me and is now my friend and someone I admire very much. Stephanie is a Godly woman whom I have respected so much over the years. I was so blessed to be in her wedding (and have her in mine) and was thrilled to go to her little girl's first birthday party yesterday. Leslie is just a doll, it was so fun to watch her eat her cake and grin at everyone!
Stephanie, Ryan, and Leslie are in deputation with ABWE to go to Togo as missionaries. If you would like them to come to your church to present their ministry, leave me a comment and I can make it happen!

I Love Free Stuff!

Here are some of the free things I got this week! I have subscribed to several "freebie" blogs. I have gotten several things that I have enjoyed, but every once in awhile, I get full size products. This week I got three different kinds of children's cold/flu medicine, cereal, and pop tarts. It's so much fun to see what the mail man has for me everyday!

This is what I'm craving right now!

Umm, Tillamook pumpkin ice cream and peanutbutter, choclate ice cream!

My friend, Becky, gave a devotional the other night at a baby shower at our church. It was very convicting and encouraging to me and was exactly what I needed to hear. I have been feeling very overwhelmed and impatient as a mom and homemaker lately. Her devotional was a great reminder to me. You can read it at her blog here (and see pictures of her adorable little boys!). Thanks Becky!

Leaves

I'm off to a Women's Retreat at the beach! I'm excited about getting to know some of the women from our church better and spending a weekend away focusing on God. Since I'm in charge of the retreats at our church, I don't often just get to sit back and enjoy them. I'm looking forward to this opportunity (and looking for more good ideas I can use!) The girls get to spend some quality time with their Daddy, and have a sleepover planned with their cousins as well.
Yesterday Rylie had her first field trip ever! It was a trip to the fire station. I have some cute pictures of that to show you all later.
I still have several posts that I want to share with you, but just haven't had the time to sit down and formulate my thoughts. Instead, I will leave you with some leaf pictures I took yesterday.

Fun With Letters (Part 1)

My friend, Rachel, tagged me with a fun photography project. You are supposed to take pictures of as many objects that look like letters that you can find. Here are a few of the ones I found so far. I'm curious to see if you can tell what letters they are supposed to be.
