Do Octopus have noses?
Do Beavers bite people?

Rylieism
Last night when we were watching "Dancing With the Stars" with Nana, Rylie saw a women with cleavage. She leaned over to me and said, "Mommy, that lady has buns on her chest."

Rylie's Vote

I was trying to explain to Rylie what the election and voting were all about the other night. She told me she knew who she wanted to be President. I asked her who, expecting to hear, "Daddy". Instead she said, "It should be a Superhero." I asked which one and she said, "Captain America, because he's always good." Not a bad idea Rylie!

It's A Boy!
Krista and Gavin welcomed Samuel Gavin into their family this morning, weighing in at 9 lbs! Congratulations!!!
Ryan confessed to me that when the monstrous spider was about to attack me he was holding the door closed so I couldn't get in! What a meanie!
Rylie told me last night that Grandpa has a white spot on his head because the tigers bit his hair off. He told them not to, but they were naughty and did it anyway. The moral of the story is beware of tigers unless you want your ears pierced!

How To Get Your Ears Pierced
Some people go to the Mall and get their ears pierced by a salesclerk at Claires. My daughter however, decided to go the Tiger route. "The Tiger?" you say. Why yes, she explained it all to me. Apparently you can go to a tiger and have him bite your ears, very gently to make holes in them so you can wear earrings. They can do it gentle enough that they aren't sharp and scratch you and so that they don't bite you. The only catch, you have to go into the jungle and find the right tiger. Need directions, ask my three year old. (And no, she doesn't really have her ears pierced.)

Rylieism; a Biblestory
"Peter and Joseph were walking on the water because a bad Pharaoh wanted to bite them on the cross."
Apparently, she wants to unify the Old and New Testament!

John 17 and other things. . .
I was going to write a post to tell you all of the things I learned from my devotional reading of John 17 this morning, but there is way too many things! This chapter is chock full of good things! It is Jesus' high priestly prayer. He talks about our salvation, eternal security, unity, His deity, our separation from the world, His love for us, His relationship with the Father and on and on. If you haven't already read it today (or yesterday, I was a day behind in my schedule), go read it! Read it thoughtfully and prayerfully!
Here is a Rylieism for you! Ryan asked her, "Are you beautiful?" Rylie said, "yes", and Ryan added, "and humble too". Rylie said, indignantly, "I'm not humble!"
We are listening to our new CD by the Carter family! We love it! The Carter's are a family in our church. They are very special to us! I have known them since I was a little girl. They have been mentors and friends for a very long time. They have made us laugh so many times and encouraged us in a myriad of ways. Their children (the older ones and the younger) have become dear to our hearts. These pictures are of the younger ones, Jonathan and Hannah (holding Anna) when they stopped by our house a few weeks ago. Rylie thinks they are the coolest big kids in the world! They graciously give her lots of attention, especially Hannah! They are a very musically talented family and have won several fiddle competitions. They have recently made a CD and gave us a copy yesterday. Our friend Chris designed the cover and it looks incredible. The music is so fun and uplifting! The whole family either sings or plays an instrument on it! Once they have a venue to sell it, I will include a link so you can get your own copy!

Today's Rylieisms
Rylie: I'm nervous!
Me: Why?
Rylie: Because Daddy Bear is sick.
While Mom and I were talking at lunch:
Rylie: Excuse me Mommy, are you talking to yourself?
You have to see the faces that she makes to go along with these things. They are too funny!
I had a bird poop on my back tonight! I was bent over unbuckling Rylie from her car seat and I felt something. I looked around and saw bird poop all over the car and my shirt! It was disgusting!

Rylieisms
No, this isn't a picture of Anna! This is Rylie when she was about two months old. Some people have asked me to post a picture of Rylie as a baby so they can see how similar she looks to Anna. I think they look a lot alike. My friend, Erin, recently asked if there were any new Rylieisms. Everyday, she says something that cracks us up, I just don't always remember them! Here are some things she's said recently:
Rylie: Mommy you're not feeling good are you?
Me: No, I'm not, how did you know?
Rylie: Because you have sickness in your heart. Jesus can heal you!
Rylie: Let my people go!
Me: That's what Moses says, right?
Rylie: (with exasperation) No, that's what Larry boy says!
"Daddy Bear (her teddy bear) is my best friend. He protects me and all my friends. We had a wedding and we're married now. Monkey and Lion are our kids."
"Daddy's not a man, he's a person."
Me: (in the car) How's your sister doing?
Rylie: She's not here.
Me: Where did she go?
Rylie: She ran away to our house. She wanted to stay home.
"S starts with snake." (we're working on letter sounds)
Rylie: I'm upset right now.
Me: Why are you upset?
Rylie: Because of Satan.
"Mommy, I don't love Satan."
She loves to pretend. Yesterday she asked me if I wanted to go to Starbucks with her. I said sure and she told me, "hop in the car". She pretended to drive up to the window and then asked me what I wanted. I told her, then she told the pretend barista that she wanted a "tomato coffee" because tomatoes are her favorite food.

It felt like Spring!
It was such a beautiful day today! We even ate ice cream outside (an "ice cream pic-a-nic on ice cream day" as Rylie said).
My appointment went well, other than the fact that it will take dynamite to open up my cervix! I have been having painful contractions every night this week (including right now), but they have not done a thing! On a positive note, when he checked my cervix, I felt him push Anna's head and she did too, she moved right away. That means that her head is lower, so that is a good sign. He did the Non Stress Test again (put me on the monitor), and Anna's heart rate was wonderful. She continues to not be in any distress, praise the Lord! He wants me to come back on Thursday and do the monitor again. The monitor monitors her heartbeat and also my uterus so it can tell if I'm having any contractions. Apparently, it also notices if your husband makes you laugh uncontrollably! Ryan kept making me laugh and the harder I tried to stop, the harder I laughed. It showed up on the monitor as a big spike. We had to explain to the doctor, that that wasn't a contraction!
He also did another ultrasound to check my fluid level. Last week, I was at a 25 which was on the line for being too high. Today, it had gone down some and is now at 23, so that is a praise! We didn't get to see much of Anna because the ultrasound was focusing on measuring the fluid. We did get to see her ribs and her practicing with her little lungs. My doctor said that if I haven't had a baby yet by next Monday, he wants me to come in for another ultrasound to check the fluid levels again. I'm now having two appointments a week. When we were leaving, the nurse asked me, "Can you please try to be dilated next week? I keep starting to get excited for you!"
Before our appointment we went out to lunch with our friends, Becky and Jenaya. They offered to watch Rylie during the appointment, since Jenaya only lived a few minutes away from the doctor. I was getting worried when the appointment lasted about an hour and a half longer than we had anticipated. I knew Rylie loves them, but she had never been to Jenaya's house, and it was nap time. I was thinking she might be missing us or needing us to help her feel secure in a new enviroment. After the appointment we called them and they met us at Cold Stone for ice cream. When Rylie saw us she said, "What are you guys doing here?" I told her that we came to get her and have ice cream together. She said, "I want to stay with Becky and Jenaya. I didn't miss you guys." So much for her needing us! Later on during our visit, she told me that I wasn't her Valentine, Becky was! Little stinker! I am actually very glad that she does have other people that she loves and that love her back!

More Rylieisms
Rylie: "I have to go tell Abby something and then I'll go back to bed." (while we were at the beach)
Me: "What do you need to tell her?"
Rylie: "Big girl stuff."
While going potty: "I need my privacy."
"Anna doesn't understand me, but she's always there for me."
When we were discussing which restaurant to go to for dinner: "I want to go to the one with the two windows were the lady gives you the food and then we go home." (Too much fast food lately!)
While making a tower of movies, "I'm making the Tower of Babel."
"You're my precious Mommy", said as she was holding my face in her hands.
Ryan told her she was his girl and she reminded him that she was Mommy's girl too. Ryan asked her if we could share her and she replied, "I'm not a toy".
"Why? Why? Why?" This we hear 50 million times a day!!!!
And an Abbyism: "Jesus was hungry so I swallowed Him in my belly so He could eat my food."

Rylieisms
"I know that's a girl because she has eyelashes, boys don't have eyelashes."
"My ears don't have eyelashes."
Rylie: "This music is old."
Ryan: "But it's good music."
Rylie: "But it's OLD."
Ryan: "Are we having this battle allready?!"
"But, I wanted to be Jesus!" What she yelled out in the middle of the night.

Once again, Rylieisms:
"Rylie loves Anna, yes she does" (This is the song she made up for Anna. She also made up a song about fish, "Fish, fish, fish, divers, octopus, fish, nemo, mermaids, fish, fish, fish.")
"I want to go to Heaven. I believe in Jesus, I don't believe I'm getting so big"
When we pulled up to the store, "Let's do this thing!"
When I told her not to stand on the ottoman, "But it's a FOOT stool".
Ryan: (after she had been taught what an octagon was) What animal has eight legs?
Rylie: An Octopus.
Ryan: Octagon and Octopus both start with "octa" because that means "eight".
Rylie: But what does "agon" mean?
Ryan: stumped
Rylie: (while watching Dora) Where is that sound coming from on Dora?
Me: I don't know.
Rylie: I do, it's coming from Valley Bible (our church).
"I like Grandpa's white hair with the pink circle in the middle."
"I like ducks, mermaids, people, and food."
